Painted works inspired by the built environment in Somerton, capturing colours and textures, patina and shadows in the town from observation and memory. The same media were used for both painting and sculpture: casein paint, printing ink, pastel, coloured pencil, wax and pigments, applied in layers to create works that reflect the urban landscape of Somerton. The sculptures are made from offcuts of wood, largely unmodified, from a timber merchant in nearby Martock.
